Ideal Cabinets Design studio had the opportunity to partner with WSLS and Habitat for Humanity’s “Home for Good” program once again this year. Ideal Cabinets first partnered with the “Home for Good” program in 2020 and found the experience so impactful that Ideal has made it a priority each year. This will be Ideal’s 5th home with Habitat for Humanity,
The Habitat Home for Good vision is brought to life thanks to the many sponsors throughout the surrounding Roanoke Valley who volunteer time and materials. Ideal Cabinets Design Studio is honored to assist in making this possible by providing quality cabinetry and countertops to these new homes.
On July 25, 2024, our team had the honor to take part in the Home for Good wall raising ceremony for this year’s home build. Ideal Cabinets, along with the other sponsors, were provided a wall stud to decorate and sign with messages for the new homeowner. The wall raising is a special time where the soon-to-be homeowner, along with a volunteer from each sponsor, nails each stud in place to “raise” the first wall full of messages of love and hope on their new home. It is always a privilege to be part of this moment that offers the beginning of a new and better life to a deserving family or individual.
This will make the tenth house built through WSLS’s Home for Good program and is going to be home to 25-year-old Medina Musa. Medina has worked through the Habitat program to help build other homes in the past and will assist in the construction of her own home as well. The excitement and gratitude Medina expressed could be felt throughout the crowd that stood to cheer her on and celebrate this special moment. Medina’s home is scheduled to be complete before the end of the year and we look forward to being part of the process of building the home and watching as Medina officially becomes a homeowner. Ideal Cabinet’s Jim Baynton expressed what being part of this experience in the last several years has meant to him “Ideal’s participation in the Home for Good projects is more about family and service than it is about business. We live in this community, we work in this community, so we serve in this community.” Ideal Cabinets Design Studio has been a family-owned local business for over 50 years, and loves the opportunity to make an impact in the areas that we serve. Thank you to WSLS and Habitat for Humanity for making moments like this possible. Together we can make a difference.
