Every year we choose a theme for our Christmas tree, and a way to give back to others as part of our Christmas celebration. After all, isn’t that what Christmas
is all about?
This year we wanted to give back to our military. With a little help from the Virginia Tech Core of Cadets, we were able to find a way to send packages to VT Core Alumni who are stationed overseas and will not be home for Christmas. The program is called “Help our Hokie Heroes”. it was started a few years ago by a local Virginia Tech Alumni chapter.
We received a list of what was needed and started working to collect as many items as possible. The first batch of boxes went out today, and as you can see, we have lots of boxes under our tree ready to go to our heroes.
