Our team from Ideal Cabinets took off our Design hats for one day to assist with hanging drywall in one of Habitat for Humanity’s newest homes. You may remember that in July we helped raise the wall for this house, and on November 14, we had the honor to return and take part in the building process.
It was truly amazing to see the progress that has been made in the last four months. It is all thanks to Habitat for Humanity and their local sponsors, contractors, and volunteers. The two-story home has already been completely framed. While there for our workday, the Ideal Cabinets group worked on hanging drywall in several rooms, including the living room and closets on the first floor. We also were able to assist with caulking the second floor.
What about the cabinets for this home, you may ask ? That is a very good question. The soon-to-be homeowners have visited our Roanoke showroom to pick out their new cabinets and countertops that will soon adorn this residence. We look forward to watching this house be transformed into a home for a very deserving family.
This is the 5th time that Ideal Cabinets has had the opportunity to partner with WSLS Channel 10 and their “Home for Good” project with Habitat for Humanity. It is always a privilege to volunteer with such a worthwhile organization that believes everyone deserves to have a decent and affordable place to live.
Stay tuned as we continue to follow the construction of this property. It will not be long until we will attend the dedication ceremony and celebrate the family receiving the keys to their very own new home.
