Meet Kevin Swallow of Ideal Cabinets

Meet Kevin Swallow. Challenging projects and problem solving is Kevin’s answer to what he loves most about working with cabinetry. Working in this industry since 1978 with his first job out of high school, he has encountered his fair share of “puzzles”. Whether residential or commercial cabinetry, the bigger the challenge the better for Kevin! He wears many hats for Ideal and adapts as our needs change. He has provided advice and supervision of our equipment purchases and set ups, and provided training in our cabinet manufacturing locations both in Ideal Salem and Rocky Mount, VA.

Kevin was raised in rural Rhode Island. He has been married to Judy since 1984; they have one son, George, and a grandson, Calvin. Kevin and Judy moved to Virginia in 2018 when he took a job with another cabinetry company. Shortly after the move the company closed, but Kevin and Judy liked Southwestern Virginia and decided they would stay (Thank you, Kevin!). He eventually made his way to Ideal Cabinets in the fall of 2019. He has been solving cabinet problems and creating solutions for our “Ideal” jobs ever since.

We love to hear about Kevin’s pets. A special friend and service dog, Jasper, is an English Cream retriever, and much-loved member of their family.  He also has three cats, one of which is a Maine Coon, Zara, and two rescue cats, Chopper and Maggie. Also dear to him is his 1968 Chevrolet Camero which he occasionally rides to a car show around town. Another special vehicle, a 1978 Bronco, he re-built with the help of his son, George.  We appreciate the industry expertise that Kevin has brought to Ideal, and the hard work he has put into helping our shop facility grow.
