Our Ideal Cabinets team once again had the privilege of joining WSLS and Habitat for Humanity’s “Home for Good” program on May 8, 2026, for a very special wall raising ceremony celebrating the future home for a family in our community. This is the 7th home we at Ideal Cabinets have had the opportunity to participate in. It’s always an incredible experience to step away from our office and come together alongside fellow sponsors to help build something that will make a lasting difference in the lives of a family in our community.
The wall raising ceremony marks one of the first major milestones in the construction process and serves as a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together with a shared purpose. Each WSLS Home for Good sponsor contributes a decorated wall stud filled with handwritten messages of encouragement, hope, and support for the future homeowners. Those individual pieces are then joined together to create one of the first walls of the home — a meaningful symbol of the foundation being built not only with lumber and nails, but with love and community spirit.

This year’s home is being built for the Hakizimana family of nine, and we are honored to play a small part in helping create a place they will soon call home. As construction continues over the coming months, sponsors will also have the opportunity to volunteer on-site and help bring the project to life firsthand — something our team always looks forward to.
Each “Home for Good” project is a reminder that a home is so much more than four walls. It’s comfort, security, stability, and a place where memories will be made for years to come. We are proud to continue supporting this meaningful initiative by providing cabinetry and countertops to help create a beautiful and functional space for the family calling this space home. Giving back to the communities we serve is something deeply important to Ideal Cabinets, and we are grateful for opportunities like this to make an impact. The inspiration from an event like this helps us stay true to one of our core values at Ideal, being community driven.
We look forward to watching the progress of this home in the months ahead and celebrating alongside the Hakizimana family as this exciting new chapter unfolds. Be sure to follow along on our blog and social media for updates throughout the build!
