Meet Lara Lee Strickler, she is a Designer and Salesperson in our Roanoke showroom. To put it simply, Lara Lee is the Vera Wang of Cabinetry Design. She brings the Haute Couture Design to the Cabinetry business.
What exactly is Haute Couture you may ask? Wikipedia defines Haute couture as … fashion that is constructed by hand, made from high-quality, expensive, often unusual fabric and sewn with extreme attention to detail, often using time-consuming, hand-executed techniques.
We could transpose that definition to the cabinetry we sell, and the designs that Lara Lee creates. We use beautiful cabinetry made from high quality wood, in any type or style you choose, even wood or styles you can’t get anywhere else. We use the most experienced and talented installers in the business so that each drawer, each cabinet door, every piece of hardware is flawless.
Lara Lee pays extreme attention to detail to make sure that every detail is faultless. To Lara Lee each design is piece of artwork, a reflection of herself and her talent as a designer, and she takes that very seriously. We asked Lara Lee what created her love for design? She said “At age ten I started drawing and designing things when my Dad taught me to draw with a scale. Ever since then I have loved every facet of interior design, and I cultivated my passion by designing several homes, including my own, and building cabinetry with unique painted finishes.” Lara Lee began her career in 1990 as a Marketing and Advertising Specialist in the Roanoke and Lynchburg areas. Seven years ago, Lara Lee joined the Ideal Cabinets Design team. She says her favorite thing about working at Ideal is “the freedom to be creative.”
What does Lara Lee do when she is not hard at work helping her customers? She enjoys spending time with her husband, Stan, and her son, Alex. She says she works hard, and she plays hard. They enjoy going on vacation in the Caribbean and turning off their cell phones for a few days for quality family time. On this last adventure, she and her son experienced the world’s longest over water zip line.
Some fun facts about Lara Lee are that she worked at the 82nd running of the Indianapolis 500, and she has been inside the Vatican City where she had the honor of seeing Pope John Paul II up close and personal.
Lara Lee grew up in the Roanoke Valley, and loves the people and places that make up our community. She understands how important it is to have family time and have a home that makes your life better. She tries to use her design talent to enrich the lives of the people we serve at Ideal Cabinets. Lara Lee says the most important thing that customers should know about Ideal is that “We do what we say we are going to do.” We have been in business almost fifty years, and we believe in keeping our word.
